My kids are amazing! I say it a lot, I know, but they are freaking awesome. I wish I could have videotaped this morning just to show you all what I mean.
Yesterday, I had Monster's 504 plan meeting. (Click here for a quick explanation of what the 504 is versus an IEP) It was stressful for me, I feel like I added far more into it than they had expected, but everything I added was important to keeping the Monster safe (life-threatening allergies & severe asthma).
The big kids know that Monster starts school this coming week.
Princess started it all when her & I were cleaning up the kitchen.
Her: Mom, are you taking some of Monster's milk to his school for him?
Me: No, they won't need it.
Her: Well, are they going to be sure he has something else to drink?
Me: Yes, they will have juice or water.
Her: No juices with Red Dye!! Right?!?!
Me: Yes, Sissy, only 100% juices.
Her: So you told them all about his allergies, right? Like, what he can & can't have & what he can't touch & that it's not safe for the other kids in his class to have that stuff too??
Me: Yes, Sis, He's all taken care of.
Then later it was "Nay-nen", my oldest who is 9. Almost the exact same conversation.
I'm so proud of my big kids, who look out for their little brother all of the time. They are amazing children & I'm happy to say they are mine!
