Last night I probably wouldn't have considered this weekend one of success; however having time to reflect a bit, I've changed my tune.
This weekend was a weekend of firsts.
First overnight trip out of state with M since he's been have anaphylactic reactions. (No 911 calls! YAY!)
First social gathering with complete strangers & their kids & "unsafe" foods (pizza...which was amazing. lol)
Neither of the above were issues :)
First bouncehouse experience in pouring rain, and then more after the lightening & hail stopped. The kids LOVED it.
First car ride of 3 1/2 hours with M screaming bloody murder the entire trip. Not so much a good thing...but definitely a first :/
But on to the blessings.
I am incredibly blessed to have 5 relatively healthy children who are really well behaved and mature for their ages.
And I am blessed for having friends who have had bigger challenges in life while building their families. I am thankful for them, for them sharing their story and for them allowing us to be a part of their lives now.
A dear friend of mine lost their baby after a short time with them two years ago this month. Their daughter is M's age. Actually they were due extremely close (a day apart I believe). I finally just bought my first gift for their daughter. Yes two long years later. But I think it's perfect & I hope that it is beautiful in their eyes as well. I hope they are able to look at it and hear it chime and let it be a reminder that their angel is still there with them. I feel so lucky to still have them as friends. <3
